Woman almost dies in accident on Wales Coast Path charity trek

In a moment of crisis, our minds can race and our bodies can freeze. It’s hard to imagine being in a situation where we truly believe that we are going to die. For Janet Baldock, this nightmare became a reality.

On a beautiful summer day, Janet decided to go for a hike in the mountains. She had always loved the outdoors and being surrounded by nature. So, with her backpack filled with water and snacks, she set off on the trail.

The hike started out as planned – breathtaking views, fresh air, and a sense of freedom. But as Janet climbed higher and deeper into the mountains, the weather began to change. Dark clouds rolled in and the once blue sky turned grey. Janet knew she had to turn around and head back to her car before the storm hit.

But just as she was about to turn back, the skies opened up and the rain came pouring down. In a matter of minutes, the trail became slippery and visibility was almost non-existent. Janet tried to stay calm and make her way back, but the sound of thunder and the fear of being struck by lightning was overwhelming.

Suddenly, she heard a loud crack and felt a jolt of electricity run through her body. In that moment, she was sure that it was her time to go. She thought, “Oh, this is it really, I’m going to die right here.”

But as fate would have it, Janet survived. She had been struck by lightning, but miraculously she was still alive. And in that moment, she realized the true value of life.

Janet’s near-death experience changed her perspective on everything. She no longer took life for granted and instead, she embraced every moment with gratitude and joy. She realized that life is fragile, and we never know when it will be taken away from us.

She also learned the importance of being prepared. Janet had always been an experienced hiker, but she had never thought to check the weather forecast before heading out. She now makes sure to always be prepared for any situation, especially when venturing into the great outdoors.

But most importantly, Janet’s experience taught her the power of the human spirit. Despite being faced with death, she found the strength to keep going and to never give up. She knows now that she is capable of overcoming any challenge that comes her way.

Janet’s story is a reminder to us all to cherish every moment and to never take our lives for granted. It’s easy to get caught up in the stresses of daily life, but we must remember to stop and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

We must also remember to always be prepared and to never underestimate the power of our own strength. Janet’s experience may have been terrifying, but it ultimately led her to a newfound appreciation for life and a sense of resilience that will stay with her forever.

So, the next time we find ourselves in a difficult situation, let us remember Janet’s words, “I thought, ‘oh, this is it really, I’m going to die right here,'” but let us also remember that we have the strength and determination to make it through. Let us embrace every moment and live our lives to the fullest. After all, life is a precious gift and we should never take it for granted.
