However, since then, Owen says, her perception of security in the UAE has been shattered. “I used to feel safe and secure here, but now I am constantly worried about what could happen next,” she says. “The sound of the sirens and the sight of military planes overhead has become a regular occurrence, and it’s unnerving.”
But what concerns Owen the most is not the explosions themselves, but rather the debris caused by the defensive missiles used to intercept them. “The thought of debris falling from the sky is terrifying to me,” she says. “I am more afraid of getting hit by debris than I am of the actual explosions.”

Apart from the physical danger, Owen also believes that the tension and fear caused by these attacks could have a long-lasting effect on the country’s economy. “The UAE has always been seen as a safe and stable haven in the Middle East, attracting a significant number of tourists and expats,” she says. “But with these attacks, that image might be tarnished, and it could have a negative impact on the country’s economy.”
Despite the fear and uncertainty, Owen remains hopeful and positive. She believes that the UAE government is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of its citizens and residents. “I have confidence in the UAE’s leadership and their ability to handle this situation,” she says. “The country has always put its people’s safety first, and I believe they will continue to do so.”
Owen also praises the UAE’s multicultural society, where people from different backgrounds come together to support and help one another. “The sense of unity and togetherness in the UAE is something that gives me hope during these difficult times,” she says. “I have seen people of different nationalities come together and offer support and comfort to each other, and it’s truly heartwarming.”
As the tensions between Iran and the US show no signs of easing, Owen’s fears remain valid. But despite it all, she has no plans of leaving the UAE. “This is my home, and I love living here,” she says. “I have faith that the UAE will overcome this difficult period, and I am proud to be a part of this resilient and strong community.”

The attacks may have caused fear and uncertainty, but they have also brought out a strong sense of unity and resilience in the country.
