Young mum had ‘perfect’ family life then £300 a week habit ‘ruined’ everything

Jade Flynn, a 20-year-old from London, never thought that one decision she made at a house party when she was 16 would shape her entire life. It was a random night like any other, with loud music, laughter, and a group of friends enjoying each other’s company. Little did she know that her curiosity would lead her to discover something that would become a big part of her identity – DJing.

As she recalls the night, Jade reminisces, “I remember my friend bringing her DJ controller to the party, and I was just intrigued. I’ve always loved music, but I never thought about trying my hand at DJing. I asked her to show me how it worked, and the moment I played my first track, I felt a connection – a rush of excitement and adrenaline. It was like I found something I didn’t know I was looking for.”

From that night on, Jade’s passion for DJing only grew stronger. She started to research and learn more about the art of mixing and blending different tracks. She spent hours practicing and experimenting with different genres, discovering her unique style and sound. Her friends were amazed by her skills, and soon enough, she started getting invited to DJ at other parties and events.

But it wasn’t just about entertaining people for Jade; it was also a form of self-expression. “When I’m behind the decks, I feel like I can truly be myself and express my emotions through the music. It’s a great outlet for any stress or worries I may have. And when I see people dancing and enjoying themselves, it’s the best feeling in the world,” Jade shares.

As she turned 18, Jade started to take DJing more seriously and began to play at local clubs and bars. She also started producing her own music, learning how to use music production software and collaborating with other artists. Her dedication and hard work paid off when she landed her first gig at a major music festival in her city.

Jade’s journey in the music industry hasn’t been without its challenges. Being a female DJ in a male-dominated industry, she has faced her fair share of discrimination and doubts from some people. But she never let it discourage her; instead, she used it as motivation to prove them wrong. “I don’t see gender when it comes to music. It’s about the passion and the skill. I believe that if you’re passionate about something and willing to put in the work, you can achieve anything,” she says confidently.

Today, Jade is a successful DJ and music producer, known for her unique blend of electronic and hip-hop music. She has played at various events and festivals, both nationally and internationally, and her fan base continues to grow. But for Jade, it’s not just about the fame and glamour of the industry; it’s about inspiring others to follow their dreams and never give up.

“I want to show people that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and work hard for it. DJing has given me a sense of purpose and identity, and I want to share that with others,” Jade says.

Jade’s story is a reminder that sometimes, the most unexpected decisions can lead us to discover our passion and purpose. Her love for DJing has not only brought joy and fulfillment in her life, but it has also inspired others to pursue their own passions. And as she continues to make waves in the music industry, Jade Flynn will always be thankful for that night at the house party, where she first found her “connection” with DJing.
