Woman says her pet is the ‘closest you can get to owning a pure wolf’

Jayne Walmsley-Hunter has always been a lover of dogs. From an early age, she was fascinated by their loyalty, intelligence, and companionship. So, when she first laid eyes on her Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, she knew she had found her perfect match. She named him Wolfie and from the moment he was eight weeks old, he has been her faithful and devoted companion.

Wolfie is a stunning creature, with a thick, grey coat and piercing amber eyes. His appearance is a combination of a wolf and a dog, with a strong and muscular body, and a gentle and affectionate nature. Jayne recalls the day she first saw him, “It was love at first sight. I knew I had to have him in my life.”

Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs are a relatively new breed, created in the 1950s by crossing a German Shepherd with a Carpathian wolf. This breed was initially developed for military and rescue purposes, but their intelligence and trainability quickly caught the attention of dog enthusiasts. Today, they are popular as family pets, guard dogs, and even in movies and TV shows.

Jayne’s journey with Wolfie has been a remarkable one. From the moment she brought him home, she knew that he was more than just a pet; he was a member of the family. She spent countless hours training him, socializing him, and showering him with love and affection. The bond between them grew stronger every day, and it was evident that Wolfie adored his owner just as much as she adored him.

One of the most remarkable things about Wolfie is his intelligence. He learns new commands quickly and is always eager to please. “He’s like a sponge, always willing to learn and adapt,” Jayne says with a smile. She has trained him in various activities, including obedience, agility, and even scent work. Wolfie has excelled in all of them and has even won numerous awards and competitions.

But it’s not just his intelligence that makes Wolfie stand out; it’s his incredible sense of loyalty and protectiveness. Jayne recalls an incident when she was out for a walk with Wolfie, and a stranger approached her aggressively. “Before I could even react, Wolfie had positioned himself between me and the stranger, ready to defend me. It was a true testament to his fierce loyalty and protective nature.”

Despite his wolf-like appearance, Wolfie is a gentle and loving dog. He adores children, and Jayne often takes him to schools to educate children about his breed and their amazing qualities. She hopes to break the stereotypes surrounding Wolfdogs and promote responsible ownership.

Jayne’s love for Wolfie has also inspired her to become an advocate for the breed. She is a member of several Wolfdog associations and is actively involved in spreading awareness about these amazing creatures. “There are still many misconceptions about Wolfdogs, and I feel it’s my duty to educate people and show them the true nature of these dogs.”

Today, Wolfie is six years old, and his bond with Jayne has only grown stronger. He is her constant companion, and they share a deep and unbreakable connection. “He’s not just a pet; he’s my best friend, my confidant, and my protector. I can’t imagine my life without him.”

Jayne’s journey with Wolfie is a testament to the incredible bond that can be formed between a human and a dog. Her love, dedication, and passion for her Wolfdog have made their relationship a truly remarkable one. As for Wolfie, he will continue to be the loving and loyal companion that he has always been, bringing joy and happiness to Jayne’s life every day.
