Action SA, EFF march side-by-side over service delivery in Polokwane

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) took to the streets on Monday in a massive march against the rising water and electricity bills, as well as calling for the resignation of John Mpe, the CEO of the utility company. The march, which brought together thousands of EFF supporters, was a clear demonstration of the party’s commitment to fighting for the rights of ordinary South Africans.

The EFF’s grievances were sparked by the recent announcement of yet another increase in the cost of water and electricity, which has been met with widespread outrage across the country. With the cost of living already at an all-time high, the EFF believes that this latest hike is an attack on the already struggling citizens of South Africa.

Led by EFF leader, Julius Malema, the march was not only a protest against the high water and electricity bills, but also a demand for accountability from the government and the utility company. Malema addressed the crowds, declaring that the EFF would not stand by and watch as the people of South Africa continue to suffer under the current economic climate.

“Our people are being burdened with these outrageous bills and it is time for us to take a stand and demand action from the government. We will not allow them to continue to exploit the people for their own selfish interests,” said Malema.

The EFF’s demands include the immediate resignation of John Mpe, the CEO of the utility company responsible for the water and electricity supply. The party believes that Mpe is responsible for the mismanagement of the utility company, leading to the exorbitant prices being charged for basic services.

Furthermore, the EFF is also demanding that the government take action to regulate the cost of water and electricity to ensure that it remains affordable for all citizens. The party has also called for a complete overhaul of the current billing system, which they claim is riddled with errors and discrepancies.

The EFF’s message of unity and solidarity was echoed by the thousands of supporters who took part in the march. Many held placards with slogans such as “Stop the exploitation of our people” and “We demand affordable water and electricity”. The EFF’s message resonated with those in attendance, who have been struggling to make ends meet due to the high cost of living.

The peaceful march ended at the offices of the utility company, where EFF leaders delivered a memorandum of demands to the management. The memorandum outlined the party’s grievances and called for a prompt response from the government and the utility company.

The EFF has vowed to continue their fight until their demands are met and the people of South Africa are no longer burdened with unaffordable bills. The party has also called on other political parties and civil society organizations to join them in their cause and stand up for the rights of the people.

As the EFF continues to mobilize and fight for the rights of ordinary citizens, it is clear that their message is resonating with the people of South Africa. The party’s determination and unwavering commitment to the cause has sparked a sense of hope and unity among citizens who have long felt neglected by the government.

In these trying times, the EFF’s march serves as a reminder to all South Africans that their voices can be heard and their demands can be met if they come together and stand strong. The party has once again shown that it is a force to be reckoned with and will not back down until justice is served for the people of South Africa. Together, we can create a better future for ourselves and our country.
