A woman has been arrested after a report of a serious assault at a property in Aberdare. Police say they were called to a property on Pant-Y-Cerdin, Cwmbach, Aberdare just before 1pm on Monday, January 8, with reports of an assault on a 43-year-old man. The man has been taken to hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 42-year-old woman from Aberdare has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 – GBH with intent – and remains in police custody. A police presence remained on the scene on Tuesday afternoon while enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "South Wales Police was called just before 1pm yesterday afternoon, Monday 8th December, with a report of a serious assault on a 43-year-old man at a property on Pant-Y-Cerdin, Cwmbach, Aberdare.
"A 42-year-old woman from Aberdare has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 – GBH with intent and remains in police custody. The man was taken to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time. Inquiries are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances behind the incident."
