Governor Mara Lezama was a special guest at the XV Congress of the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM), where Claudia Sheinbaum, the National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, was also present.
At the event in Mexico City, the Governor of Quintana Roo reiterated her full support and collaboration with Claudia Sheinbaum, accompanying her at the head table alongside other officials, including Mario Delgado, leader of Morena.
The CATEM congress provides a platform for discussions with union representatives aimed at improving working conditions, particularly for employees in Quintana Roo.
This union, founded 15 years ago, now has approximately 7 million members across 1,192 labor organizations from various industries.
“Thank you, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, for making time in your busy schedule. You first governed my hometown, Tlálpan, which I am proud of, then this city where we are today, and soon, you’ll see what comes next. A woman of the highest caliber, thank you, my dear friend,” stated Pedro Haces, the union leader.
In response, Sheinbaum officially announced a coalition with the workers’ union.
“Next Monday, we will kick off the formal process of my campaign for the Presidency of the Republic, and I invite you all to join us in this journey. I promise the workers that we will continue defending their salaries and labor rights, because we know that when workers thrive, businesses and Mexico thrive too.”
