Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, as the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, underscored the vital role of cooperation between workers and employers for national progress during the XV National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM). She affirmed her commitment to broadening labor rights and preventing a return to past practices.
In her address, Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that aligning objectives is essential to sustaining Mexico’s public life transformation. She pointed out the necessity of advancing the Fourth Transformation while avoiding a relapse into corruption and privilege.
Following the inauguration of the first Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation within CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated her dedication to ensuring a dignified life for workers. She stressed the importance of collaboration between the labor and business sectors, a strategy supported by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Pedro Haces Barba, Senator of the Republic and Secretary General of CATEM, highlighted the successes achieved through the cooperation between labor representatives and the 4T government. He mentioned milestones such as the increase in the minimum wage and the eradication of outsourcing, emphasizing that all decisions should be grounded in the principles of the 4T movement.
Senator Ricardo Monreal stressed the significance of enhancing the relationship between workers and the government to continue expanding labor rights under Sheinbaum Pardo’s leadership.
The XV National Congress of CATEM also included notable attendees like Mario Delgado Carrillo, National President of Morena, as well as governors and various institutional representatives, demonstrating widespread support for the meeting’s established principles and objectives.
