Welsh MAFS UK groom on why he wasn’t at the reunion

I’ve Had a Lot of Messages Just Asking Why I Didn’t Go to the Reunion and I Thought I’d Clear a Few Things Up

As the saying goes, “time flies when you’re having fun.” It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since we graduated from high school. It seems like just yesterday we were walking the halls, attending classes, and making memories that would last a lifetime. And now, as we approach our high school reunion, I’ve been receiving a lot of messages asking why I won’t be attending. So, I thought I’d take this opportunity to clear a few things up.

First and foremost, I want to express how grateful I am for the invitations and the thoughtfulness of my classmates. It truly means a lot to know that I am still remembered and included in such an important event. However, as much as I would love to attend, there are a few reasons why I won’t be able to make it.

One of the main reasons is that I currently live in a different country. After graduation, I decided to pursue my dreams and move abroad to experience different cultures and expand my horizons. It has been an incredible journey so far, but it also means that I am not able to attend the reunion. I know it may seem like a simple excuse, but the truth is, it’s not easy for me to travel back for just a weekend. It requires a lot of planning, time off work, and of course, a significant amount of money. As much as I would love to see everyone and catch up, it’s just not feasible for me at this time.

Another reason is that I have lost touch with many of my classmates. While I have fond memories of high school, I have also moved on and created a new life for myself. I have made new friends, pursued different interests, and built a career that I am proud of. Of course, I still have a special place in my heart for my high school friends, but the truth is, we have all grown and changed in our own ways. I am sure that the reunion will be a great opportunity to reconnect, but I also know that it may not be the same as it was 10 years ago.

I also want to address the fear of missing out (FOMO) that many of us experience when it comes to events like this. It’s natural to feel like we are missing out on something special, especially when we see pictures and updates from our classmates. But the truth is, we all have our own paths and our own journeys. Just because I won’t be at the reunion, it doesn’t mean that I am missing out on anything. I am simply choosing to focus on the present and make the most out of my current situation.

Lastly, I want to emphasize that my absence at the reunion does not mean that I don’t care about my classmates or our high school memories. In fact, I cherish those memories and the friendships that were formed during that time. But as we all know, life can get busy and priorities shift. And for me, attending the reunion is just not a top priority at the moment.

I hope this article has shed some light on why I won’t be attending the reunion. I want to reiterate that I am truly grateful for the invitations and the thoughtfulness of my classmates. I am sure the reunion will be a wonderful event filled with laughter, reminiscing, and catching up. And who knows, maybe in the future, I will have the opportunity to attend a reunion and reconnect with everyone. But for now, I am content with the memories I have and the life I am living.

To all my classmates attending the reunion, have a fantastic time and make the most out of this special event. And to those who, like me, won’t be able to make it, let’s continue to cherish the memories and stay connected in our own ways. After all, distance and time can never erase the bond we formed during our high school years.

Thank you for understanding and I wish everyone the best.

Sincerely,
