MKP President Zinhle Mokhontso has affirmed that the newly formed Zuma-Sambudla alliance is committed to ensuring the safe return of the 19 South African men currently stranded in Ukraine.
In a recent press conference, Mokhontso stated that the alliance’s main focus will be on the well-being of these men who are facing uncertain circumstances in a foreign country. She also stressed the importance of working together with the government and relevant authorities to facilitate the men’s return to South Africa.
The 19 men, all of whom are in their late twenties and early thirties, were allegedly misled by a recruitment agency promising them lucrative jobs in Ukraine. However, upon arrival, they were left abandoned in a foreign country with no proper accommodation, basic necessities, or means to return home.
Mokhontso expressed her disappointment and concern towards the situation, stating that the men were lured into a false promise and are now facing a difficult and distressing reality. She further added that the Zuma-Sambudla alliance will actively engage with the South African embassy in Ukraine and the Department of International Relations and Cooperation to fast track the men’s return.
“This is a matter of great importance to us, and we will do everything in our power to ensure the safe return of our fellow South Africans. These men were promised a better life, and it is our responsibility to bring them back home to their families and loved ones,” Mokhontso affirmed.
The Zuma-Sambudla alliance, formed earlier this year, aims to address pressing issues such as unemployment, poverty, and corruption in South Africa. They have also pledged to prioritize the needs of all South Africans, ensuring equal opportunities for everyone.
The alliance has received immense support from the public, with many commending their efforts to tackle the ongoing issues facing the country. The commitment shown by the alliance towards the safe return of the 19 men in Ukraine has been hailed as a positive step towards their goal of promoting the well-being of all South Africans.
Mokhontso further assured the public that they will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates on the men’s return. In the meantime, she urged South Africans to stand in solidarity with their fellow citizens and show support for their safe return.
“This is a time for us to come together and show our compassion and unity. These men are not just strangers in a foreign land; they are our brothers, sons, and husbands. We must do everything in our power to bring them back home,” Mokhontso stated.
In conclusion, the Zuma-Sambudla alliance has reaffirmed its commitment to the safe return of the 19 South African men in Ukraine. The alliance’s efforts have been applauded, and it is clear that they are determined to fulfill their promises of addressing pressing issues and promoting the well-being of all South Africans. Together, with the support and cooperation of the public, we can ensure the safe return of our fellow South Africans.
