Limited funds won’t deter campaigns for 2026 LGE: Mapaila

SACP’s Mapaila says they will rely on grassroots support to ensure the success of their campaign.

The South African Communist Party (SACP) has always been a strong advocate for the rights and welfare of the working class. Over the years, they have fought tirelessly for social justice, equality and a better life for all South Africans. And now, as the country prepares for the upcoming local government elections, the SACP has once again taken up the charge to ensure that the voices of the people are heard and their needs are met.

In a recent statement, SACP’s first deputy general secretary Solly Mapaila shared the party’s strategy for the upcoming elections. He emphasized the importance of grassroots support in ensuring the success of their campaign. Mapaila believes that the true power of the people lies in their communities and the SACP is determined to tap into that power to bring about positive change.

The SACP’s campaign is centered around the theme of “People before Profits”. This reflects their commitment to putting the needs of the people first and fighting against the exploitation of the working class. They have identified key issues that affect the everyday lives of South Africans, such as unemployment, housing, education, and healthcare, and have pledged to address these issues with the support of the people.

Mapaila stated that the SACP will be focusing on door-to-door campaigns and community meetings to engage with the people and understand their concerns. “We want to hear directly from the people about the challenges they are facing and what they expect from their local government,” he said. This shows the SACP’s dedication to grassroots democracy and their belief in the power of the people to bring about change.

The SACP also plans to work closely with community-based organizations, trade unions, and other progressive movements to build a strong coalition of support. This united front will not only amplify the voice of the people but also ensure that their demands are heard and acted upon by the government. Mapaila urged all South Africans to come together and support the SACP in their efforts to create a better future for all.

One of the key strategies of the SACP is to mobilize the youth. With the majority of South Africa’s population being young people, their participation in the elections is crucial. The SACP has been actively engaging with the youth through various platforms, including social media, to raise awareness about the importance of their vote and the role they can play in shaping their communities.

Mapaila also highlighted the need for a clean and corruption-free government. He stated that the SACP will not tolerate any wrongdoing and will hold those in power accountable for their actions. The SACP’s campaign is not just about winning seats in the local government, but also about creating a transparent and accountable government that works for the people.

In conclusion, the SACP’s campaign is a call to action for all South Africans to unite and demand a better future for themselves and their communities. With their focus on grassroots support, the SACP is determined to bring about real change and ensure that the needs of the people are met. As Mapaila rightly said, “The power lies in the hands of the people, and together we can make a difference.” Let us all join hands and support the SACP in their mission to build a better South Africa for all.
