Police investigating after well-known local DJ films himself urinating on elderly man in pub

A DJ filmed himself urinating on an elderly man then posted the footage on social media. Leigh Brookfield has apologised for the video he took on Boxing Day at the urinals in Llanelli Tennis and Squash Club. Police are investigating.

The video shows the elderly man standing next to Mr Brookfield, 40, at the urinals and speaking about his serious health issues. Mr Brookfield says "sorry to hear that bud" as he urinates on the back of the man's trousers. The DJ, who has been a regular at Llanelli venues for around 15 years, posted the video on Snapchat and it was then widely shared on Facebook by people who were outraged at Mr Brookfield's behaviour.

In a Facebook post that night, Mr Brookfield said he was "deeply sorry", adding: "It's just something me and the boys do when we are drunk, and until watching the video back I didn't realise that the nice gentleman next to me was going through health problems." He later told WalesOnline he was "absolutely paralytically drunk" when the incident happened at around 8pm in the social club and that he could not "really remember any of it happening". He added: "My actions were inexcusable. I've seen the video and I'm disgusted with myself. My hand on my heart, I was not aware of what the gentleman was saying to me. I was crying watching what I did."

The DJ, who said he did not know the elderly man, was socialising at the club in what was meant to be his "last hurrah" drinking session before his partner gives birth early next year. After leaving the club, Mr Brookfield moved on to a nearby Wetherspoon pub where people started to confront him over the video, which was already being shared on Facebook. He added: "I went outside to watch it and I was like, 'Jesus Christ.'"
