Salud is a Spanish word that means ‘health’ and it is also the name of an organization that is dedicated to providing quality healthcare services to underprivileged communities. Founded by Neil Gajare, a student at the University of Pennsylvania, Salud has been making a positive impact in the lives of many people.
Neil Gajare, a student at UPenn, was motivated to start Salud after witnessing the lack of access to healthcare in low-income communities. He saw how people were struggling with preventable illnesses and diseases due to the lack of resources and he knew that something had to be done. With the help of a few friends, Neil founded Salud and it has been growing ever since.
One of the main goals of Salud is to provide free medical services to those who cannot afford it. Through various partnerships and collaborations, Salud has been able to set up clinics in different communities and provide medical check-ups, vaccinations, and treatments at no cost. This has been a huge relief for many families who would otherwise not have been able to afford medical care.
I had the opportunity to volunteer with Salud and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Salud has undoubtedly made a positive impact in the lives of many people.
