As the old adage goes a dog is for life and not just for Christmas. Indeed, as we bid farewell to 2023 and look ahead to 2024, rescue dogs at shelters across south Wales will be hoping the new year will finally see them find a loving family and their forever homes.
Rescue centres work tirelessly every day to save and enrich the lives of dogs and other animals in their care. But nothing pleases the rescue centre owners and volunteers more than the day when they get to rehome their four-legged friends in permanent homes where they can live out their days in happiness with their new owners. Each pet comes with their own challenges and obstacles borne out of their start in life but each present a perfect opportunity to add a valuable member to your family.
We've spoken to those behind the running of rescue centres in Carmarthenshire, Pontyclun, and Cardiff who, in their own words, have profiled just some of the dogs who will be hoping for a better 2023 and getting their very own sofa to hog. Keep a special eye out for Hector, who we profiled back in September. For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox, sign up to our newsletter
